- TBM850 United Kingdom Launch
- New sales and support organization to serve customers in the British Isles also is unveiled at the annual event
Sywell, U.K., May 31, 2012 –– DAHER-SOCATA’s TBM 850 is making an extensive demonstration tour in the United Kingdom and Ireland, demonstrating this very fast turboprop aircraft’s capabilities for potential customers while also highlighting its new sales and support organization.
The presence began with a TBM 850 appearance at this month’s AeroExpo UK 2012 – a dedicated general aviation exhibition held annually at Sywell Aerodrome in Northamptonshire.
“As general aviation’s main exhibition on the other side of the Channel, AeroExpo UK is the best place to meet past, current and future TBM customers in one of Europe’s key private aircraft markets,” explained Nicolas Chabbert, Senior Vice President of the DAHER-SOCATA Airplane Division. “It also provides the occasion to spotlight our new organization for the U.K. and Ireland, as well as introducing the TBM 850 Elite version – which incorporates new features to complement the very fast aircraft’s unique cost/performance ratio.”
TBM aircraft sales for the U.K. and Ireland are now handed by Mark Diaz, DAHER-SOCATA’s Airplane Division Director of International Sales, who also is a TBM demonstration pilot. He is assisted by the team at Aura Aviation, a TBM Authorized Sales Representative, which is based at Oxford Airport.
TBM 850 support in this market is under the care of two long-established service centers: ASG Ltd. in Guernsey (Channel Islands) and MCA Aviation Ltd, based at Shoreham Airport (West Sussex).
The TBM 850 is the world’s fastest single-engine turboprop, with a maximum cruise speed of 320 KTAS at 26,000 ft. (in ISA conditions). As an 850-shp. version of DAHER-SOCATA’s proven six-seat TBM 700 turboprop business aircraft, the TBM 850 combines cruise speeds and travel times typical of light jets with the economical direct operating costs of a turboprop, along with excellent range and payload capacity.
The Model Year 2012 TBM 850 Elite was unveiled in March at the U.S. SUN ’N FUN International Fly-In & Expo, offers a unique capability to tailor the passenger cabin to meet operators’ needs. The middle seats can be oriented in forward-facing position while the rear seats are removable. In about 30 minutes, the TBM 850 can be reconfigured in a four-seat cabin, increasing the luggage volume capacity by three and doubling the maximum luggage weight.
DAHER-SOCATA offers also a new carbon fiber edging for aircraft and include in the list of options, Garmin’s GSR 56 Iridium satellite transceiver. This gives worldwide access to quality on-demand weather information and text/voice communications.
Moreover, DAHER-SOCATA has extended its Exclusive Maintenance Program to cover scheduled maintenance costs for the original retail customer through the aircraft’s fifth annual inspection, or up to 1,000 total flight hours – whichever comes first.
Since its 2005 launch, the TBM 850 has become an international success – with more 266 aircraft delivered as of April 30, 2012. The combined TBM 700 and TBM 850 fleet now stands at 590 units worldwide.
