Friedrichshafen, Germany, April 13, 2011 – DAHER-SOCATA is marking two milestones during its presence at this week’s AERO Friedrichshafen air show: the company’s 100th anniversary of aviation excellence, which traces its roots to France’s Aeroplanes Morane-Saulnier; and the first year of TBM 850 distributor representation in Germany and Austria with Rheinland Air Service.
Rheinland Air Service’s appointment as the DAHER-SOCATA distributor,
service center and parts supplier for TBM aircraft in Germany and Austria was announced at the AERO Friedrichshafen event in April 2010. The Dusseldorf, Germany-headquartered company is an established maintenance center, parts distributor, fixed-based operator and manager of business aviation terminals.
This year’s AERO Friedrichshafen air show enables us to highlight the activity of our Rheinland Air Service distributor, which already has sold three TBM 850s and has generated a significant amount of maintenance and parts activity,” said Nicolas Chabbert, Senior Vice President of the DAHER-SOCATA Airplane Division.
Rheinland Air Service CEO Johannes Graf von Schaesberg said AERO
Friedrichshafen also provides an excellent opportunity demonstrate his
company’s partnership with DAHER-SOCATA for sales and support of new TBM 850s. “We thank DAHER-SOCATA for its trust and backing in our organization to market the TBM 850 in Germany and Austria,” he added.
The AERO Friedrichshafen air show also is a part of DAHER-SOCATA’s centennial activities in 2011 that honor 100 years of continuous aircraft production, beginning with its predecessor company, Aeroplanes Morane-Saulnier, created in 1911.
As part of the 2011 celebration, DAHER-SOCATA is offering a commemorative TBM 850 version with a special livery, accompanied by a five-year Exclusive Maintenance Program that includes five free annual inspections or 1,000 flight hours with free scheduled maintenance costs. In addition, warranties on the centennial TBM 850 are extended to five years for avionics, five years for systems and seven years for the airframe.
The TBM 850 is the world’s fastest single-engine turboprop, with a maximum cruise speed of 320 KTAS at 26,000 ft. (in ISA conditions). As an 850-shp. version of DAHER-SOCATA’s proven six-seat TBM 700 turboprop business aircraft, the TBM 850 combines cruise speeds and travel times typical of light jets with the economical direct operating costs of a turboprop, along with excellent range and payload capacity.
Since its 2005 launch, the TBM 850 has become an international success – with 224 aircraft delivered as of March 31, 2011. The combined TBM 700 and TBM 850 fleet now stands at 548 units worldwide.
